Mary McCarthy

President and Co-Founder, Your Management Team

As a small business owner, Mary has lived the challenges of starting, surviving, and growing a business understanding the hours, dedication, and focus needed to manage a successful business.

With over 20 years of experience as a business owner and consultant, Mary comprehends every angle and every challenge associated with small business ownership. Mary has taken her experiences and turned them into Your Management Team’s rich offering of services and programs assisting other small business owners navigate their own challenges and opportunities with expert resources, rather than by trial and error.

In addition to running Your Management Team, Mary Co-founded a 501(c)3 organization, The Women’s Small Business Accelerator with the goal of mentoring and educating women business owners. Additional volunteer efforts include serving for several years as the Chairperson of SCORE Columbus. Mary also provided her guidance and expertise to the Ohio Department of Development’s Entrepreneurial Roundtable and the Athena PowerLink Governing Board. Currently Mary is an active member of the National Association of Women Business Owners (NAWBO) Columbus chapter, where she has many leadership roles, including the chair of the 2013 and 2014 Visionary Awards Gala. Her big picture thinking helped boost attendance 212% and increase net revenues from 7% to 28%.

Lynn Burks

Program Manager

Lynn is known for delivering results and has successfully launched key initiatives that position businesses for continued growth. She has achieved this in both Fortune 500 companies and non-profit organizations by leveraging her combined 20+ years of marketing, program/project management, strategic planning and leadership experience.

This combination of experience and skills enabled Lynn to join Your Management Team and lead the launch, execution and on-going delivery of the SBA ScaleUp America initiative that will reach 150 business owners. Prior to Your Management Team, Lynn provided business consulting to non-profits and also partnered with The Ohio State University to execute a grant focused on improving collaboration and sustainability of non-profit across 25 Ohio counties. Lynn’s for-profit experience included Abbott Nutrition where she led innovation for a newly acquired growth brand and the strategic development and implementation of enterprise online solutions.

Lynn earned a Master of Business Administration from Capital University and a Bachelor of Science in Business with a dual degree in Marketing and International Business from The Ohio State University. She also studied International Business at the École Superieure De Commerce in Nantes France.
